Physical control

  1. Bag Method.
    Place a small transparent plastic bag over the blooming head. Tap the blooming head lightly to dislodge adult midges and then quickly remove the bag from the sorghum head (DA, 2003).
  2. Lightly tap seed head onto a piece of white cardboard or paper to dislodge the orange-bodied adults (DA, 2003).
