Management and cultural practices
- Grow healthy plants. Healthy plants do not require management against most native psyllids species for they can tolerate the psyllids substantial feeding. Psyllids' population will also decline naturally.
- Tomato and potato varieties that have extra hairy leaves are less attractive to psyllids (Cranshaw; Knutson, 1996). Ask for assistance from your local agriculture office for availability of such
varieties in your locality.
