Physical methods

  1. Collect larvae. Carefully break open the silk strands that hold the edges of the folded leaves and remove the larvae inside. Make sure not to drop them because they can find their way back. Collected larvae should be feed to chickens or drowned in soapy water.
  2. Prune trees that are shading rice paddies. High infestation occurs when rice plants are shaded by trees.
